Frequently Asked Questions
Do my notes save automatically?
Yes. Everything you type is saved to your browser's local storage as you go, so closing the tab or reloading the page does not lose your work. Because the note lives in the browser rather than an account, it will still be there when you come back on the same device and browser.
Are my notes private?
Completely. Nothing is uploaded, and the note is stored only in your own browser, so no server, and nobody running this site, can read it. Clearing your browser data will also clear the note, so download anything you need to keep.
Can I get my note out as a file?
Yes. Download it as a Word document to keep the bold, italic, headings and lists, or as a plain .txt file if you only want the text. Both download straight to your device with no email step or sign-up.
Will my note still be there on another device?
No. Local storage is tied to one browser on one device, which is what keeps the note private. To move a note to another machine, download it and open it there, or copy and paste the text.
Does it count words and characters?
Yes. The counter updates live as you type, which makes it useful for essays, meta descriptions, social posts and anything else with a length limit.
Do I need an account or an install?
Neither. The notepad opens instantly in any modern browser, works offline once the page has loaded, and is completely free with no sign-up.
